Christchurch
Catholic Primary School
St Joseph’s School has a long and proud history. It was opened
in 1878 and is now the largest Catholic primary school in the diocese.
We
are an extremely well resourced school. Our school buildings and
grounds are wonderful assets. In addition all classrooms are networked
for computer use and we have a computer suite used by every classroom.
Our recently renovated administration block and library complement
the nine new classrooms built in the past six years.
However,
without doubt, our greatest asset are "our people." There
is a real sense of community, ownership, commitment and pride in
our school from parents, children and staff alike. This is an integral
part of the culture of our school and is to be valued highly.
We
enjoy a close relationship with the priest of the parish. He visits
classrooms on a regular basis to help us enhance the special character
of the school.
Our
aim is "to make a difference" to our students not just
academically but spiritually and socially as well.
